Job Description
Job Summary:The Director of Catholic Youth Sports will oversee and manage a vibrant sports program serving students from Kindergarten through 8th grade across five Florida counties: Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, and Volusia. This individual will provide visionary leadership, ensure program excellence, and foster the spiritual and physical development of young athletes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and organizational skills, a passion for youth sports, and a strong commitment to the Catholic faith.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. Program Management:
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Catholic Youth Sports program, ensuring its alignment with the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
• Communicates clear expectations to coaches, parents, and families to ensure a consistent and positive experience for all participants.
Community Partnerships:
• Partners with the University of Notre Dame's Play Like A Champion Today program, requiring all parents and coaches to complete training prior to registration and participation.
• Collaborates with school principals, leveraging their leadership and relationship with school families to build strong ties and promote the program.
• Fosters relationships with school families, ensuring parents and spectators conduct themselves in a manner befitting a Catholic youth program.
Event Coordination:
• Plans and executes sports events, tournaments, and activities, ensuring smooth operations and a positive experience for all participants.
• Promotes an environment where children can learn, improve their skills, and develop their gifts and talents in a supportive and respectful setting.
Team Leadership:
Manages, mentors, and inspires a team of employees, coaches, and volunteers, promoting a collaborative and mission-driven culture.
Travel & Availability:
Attends games, events, and meetings during nights and weekends, traveling extensively across Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, and Volusia counties.
Financial Oversight:
Develops and manages operational budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility while securing funding through grants, sponsorships, and community partnerships.
Promotion of Faith and Values:
Leads by example, integrating Catholic values into all aspects of the program, and nurturing the spiritual growth of students through sports.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with limited supervision. CATHOLIC FAITH
Practice of the Catholic Faith is required. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Proven leadership experience as an Athletic Director, Coach, or in a sports management role; Demonstrated success in managing teams and coordinating large-scale programs or events.
Preferred:
• Prior experience managing a multi-location program.
• Certification in coaching or sports administration.
• Familiarity with the Florida youth sports landscape and community.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in budgeting, fundraising, and marketing strategies.
• Passion for working with youth in grades K-8.
• Strong commitment to the Catholic faith and ability to uphold its teachings and values.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person must be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure. Must be able and willing to travel extensively across the three counties.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert moderate physical effort in heavy work, but which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (30 pounds). Tasks involve dynamic work such as extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation while also requiring the ability to move around.
Sensory Requirements: Tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are primarily performed in an office and outdoors in various environmental conditions. The role may require exposure to various weather elements such as rain, wind, and sun, depending on the location and activity. Travel to different sites is required on a regular basis.
