Job Description
Job Title: Manager of Member Engagement and CommunicationJob Summary:
The Manager of Member Engagement and Communication is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and maintaining content, events, and other programming that promote the Franciscan Federation's mission to collaboratively provide opportunities for all who identify as Franciscan to grow in deeper relationships with each other and all of creation as brother and sister.
The Manager of Member Engagement and Communication develops a deep understanding of what brings value to members. They will guide the Federation's strategy and implementation of communication and programming that builds relationships, educates, inspires, and grows a diverse and engaged membership. They will report to and work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that the Federation's interactions with members are consistent with the priorities and strategic direction set forth by the Federation Board of Directors. The position is fully remote, providing the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Communication and Marketing
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy aligned with the Federation's mission and goals.
Oversee all Federation communications, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding across all platforms.
Create and distribute engaging monthly newsletters featuring Federation updates, member spotlights, and relevant ecclesial news.
Manage and regularly update the Federation's website, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for members and potential members.
Create and manage a team of student social media interns from partner AFCU schools, providing mentorship and guidance to enhance the Federation's online media presence.
Program Development and Implementation
Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive programs that align with the Federation's mission, goals, and strategic objectives.
Identify emerging trends and member needs to create innovative programs that enhance the value of Federation membership.
Plan and implement both in-person and virtual events on a regular basis, ensuring high-quality content and engaging experiences. Manage logistics for in-person and virtual events.
Work collaboratively with Federation commissions, circles, and committees to ensure a balance of programming that meets the needs of current and future members.
Strategic Planning and Leadership
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to develop, refine, and implement the Federation's strategic plan.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans with clear timelines, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Lead regularly scheduled joint meetings of representatives of all commissions, circles, and groups within the organization, ensuring alignment with the Federation's overall strategic goals.
Ensure effective communication between commission, circles, committees, groups, and the Executive Director and the Board.
Member Liaison
Serve as the primary point of contact for membership inquiries and problem-solving.
Oversee annual dues collection process ensuring complete and timely payment of member dues.
Provide exceptional service to members, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Assist in developing strategies to enhance member engagement and retention.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, and/or theology. Masters Preferred.
5+ years of experience in ministry/religious program management, event planning, logistical support, and communications roles.
Experience with content development and marketing from ecclesial perspective is preferred.
Experience with digital media platforms, including WordPress and social media.
Comfortable working with individuals requiring a wide range of technical support needs.
Familiarity with Franciscan values and mission preferred.
