Director of Advancement

Job Description

Gesu Parish, a Jesuit parish community of approximately 900 families in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking a Director of Advancement to provide leadership, planning, and management of advancement, stewardship, and development efforts for the parish.

The Director of Advancement is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive advancement program for the parish. Responsibilities include oversight of all fundraising, marketing, public relations, and communications activities. This position involves partnering with parishioners, priests, parish staff, Marquette University contacts, and key committees on a variety of strategic initiatives. The position is broad in scope in that it serves to connect many areas of parish life and engage parishioners to deep levels.

Qualifications: minimum five years of experience in advancement, fundraising, stewardship, development, or related field required; experience in religious or non-profit organizations preferred; knowledge of, experience in, and an appreciation for Catholic Church required; helpful to be an active practicing Catholic; bachelor's degree preferred; proficiency or ability to become proficient in related software required; strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills required; experience supervising volunteers helpful. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check and completion of Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment requirements.
