Job Description

Notre Dame Preparatory School, a Catholic, independent, college-preparatory school for girls in grades 6-12 located in Towson, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic candidate for a full-time teaching position in Middle School Religion for the 2025-2026 school year. The position will involve teaching 6th and 7th grade religion classes.

Annual dates for the 10-month position are August 16th to June 15th (as well as attending new employee orientation in mid-August 2025).

Responsibilities:
• Teach 5 out of 8 class periods each day, focusing on engaging and effective religious instruction.
• Collaborate with the Religion Department to develop and refine curriculum rooted in Catholic intellectual tradition, aligned with NDP's mission, and designed to integrate learning, prayer, and service.
• Incorporate instructional technology into teaching practices to enhance students' learning experiences.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain effective teaching strategies and stay current with educational trends.
• Engage in the broader school community by participating in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including advisory and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Religion, Theology, or a related field (required).
• Master's degree preferred.
• Successful classroom experience, particularly with middle school students, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Catholic theology and the ability to teach in accordance with the Church's teachings, including instruction in Scripture, Catholic doctrine, church history, sacraments, and morality tailored to middle school students.
• Familiarity with instructional technology and its integration in religious education.
• A commitment to Notre Dame Preparatory School's mission of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the practice of social justice.
Desired Characteristics:
• An active, practicing Catholic with a passion for teaching and inspiring young students.
• Strong academic preparation in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and departments to develop curriculum both vertically and horizontally.
• Experience with integrating a variety of engaging classroom instructional methods and utilizing technology.
• A commitment to educating young women in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame, embracing the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, and fostering prayer and social justice.

Annual salary is $45,000 to $70,000 based upon degrees and experience.
