Job Description

PARISH MUSIC DIRECTOR
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, located in Southern Chester County at 300 State Road, West Grove PA 19390, has a vibrant music program. We are looking for someone who can serve as our Parish Music Director. He/she will play the organ usually for two Masses on the weekend, on holy days, and for funerals and weddings.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling, training, and recruiting cantors;
- Planning the music for services except those led by the contemporary music group;
- ordering music and obtaining copyright permission;
- participation in the Liturgy Committee;
- arranging for tuning or repair of organ and pianos.

Required skills and education:
- must be an accomplished organist
- familiar with classical and sacred music

Hours and Benefits
We will offer a very competitive salary based on education, skills, and experience. We also provide the same benefits of our full-time parish employees, including health insurance, pension, and life insurance. The position allows for three paid weekends of vacation per calendar year.

Expectations
The Parish Music Director must have familiarity and love of the Roman Catholic Mass.
Must pass Safe Environment background checks and attend Safe Environment training, required by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
