Job Description

Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Carmel, IN, a dynamically faithful parish of 5,000+ families, is accepting resumes from qualified individuals for the position of Stewardship Director. We are seeking an innovative, energetic and self-directed individual with excellent oral and written communication skills, extensive computer software knowledge and excellent organizational skills.

This person will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Christian Stewardship and Communications at OLMC. The successful candidate must be a Catholic fully committed to the Church and her teachings and have prior experience working with Stewardship and Development. This position has one direct report. Essential Duties:
1. Work with the staff and volunteers to cultivate and grow a culture of Christian Stewardship in the parish.
2. Plan and coordinate periodic social events for the parish (e.g., Food Truck Festival, St Joseph Feast, etc.).
3. Encourage parishioner involvement in the life of the Church.
4. Coordinate programs for newcomers and involve them in the life of the parish.
5. Coordinate the fundraising and development activities. These include, but are not limited to, the parish's Stewardship Renewal Campaign, annual and bi-annual socials/fundraisers (e.g.,
Sapphire and Gold Gala), Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana annual fund drive (i.e., Catholic Ministries Appeal), and planned giving programs.
6. Coordinate all other fundraising activities of the parish to maintain a consistent, organized approach to fundraising.
7. Create, implement, and manage a process for donor stewardship (cultivation and solicitation).
8. Develop a network of alumni and parents of OLMC School alumni with the goal of keeping them involved in parish life.
9. Oversee all aspects of communication, including, but not limited to, website, bulletin, annual reports, and other channels, as needed.
10. Prepare annual budget for stewardship programs
11. Member of Stewardship Council.

Education/Experience:
• Active member of the Roman Catholic parish community
• Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, or related field is helpful
• 2-3 years of experience in fundraising/development
• Able to cooperate and work with others
• Possess respect for and capability of upholding Catholic Church teachings
• Able to honor and maintain confidentiality
• Able to pass and maintain Diocesan child safety protocols
