Job Description

Summary:
Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City, TX, seeks a part-time (20-25 hours per week) LITURGY COORDINATOR. The Liturgy Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the worship life of the Parish by coordinating and providing a quality liturgical experience which celebrates and strengthens the congregant's journey of faith. This position will report directly to the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and Business Manager.

Areas of Responsibility:
• Oversees planning and execution of all liturgical celebrations, including prayer services, confirmation, reconciliation.
• Creates weekly liturgical documents in a timely manner.
• Oversees the maintenance of church and liturgy supplies, cleaning of vestments, altar clothes, and other items in collaboration with liturgical ministry leads.
• Coordinates new and ongoing formation of liturgical ministers: Acolytes, Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion/Homebound, Hospitality Ministers, Lectors, Music Ministers, Sacristans
• Facilitates quarterly Liturgy Committee Meetings and maintains Parish liturgical schedule of events
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with the Archdiocesan Office of Worship and sister parishes.

Job Requirements:
• Practicing Catholic able to participate in the Sacraments of the Church
• Strong knowledge of the Catholic faith and doctrine
• Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to lead and train liturgical ministers
• Preferred - 3 years of active leadership in liturgical ministries in a parish setting
• Working knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy, celebration, and Sacraments
• Evening and weekend work is required as needed, as is work on liturgical solemnities
• Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Must be organized and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient in use of a computer and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Excel), etc; must possess ability to quickly learn new software and systems
• Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
• Music background is a plus
