Job Description
St. Jude Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a practicing Catholic with a deep love for Jesus and the Catholic faith, and has a joyful passion for sharing the faith with young people to become our next Youth Ministry Coordinator. If you are dedicated to helping youth grow in their Catholic faith, creating a fun environment for them to grow, and embody the values consistent with the Catholic church, we invite you to consider joining our staff.As St. Jude's Youth Ministry Coordinator, you will plan and collaborate with parish and parish staff in our outreach to the youth through faith formation, prayer, and social activities.
Tasks include the following:
-Respond to parent, teen, staff, and resource emails
-Post updates on St. Jude Youth Ministry social media (Facebook and Instagram)
-Schedule and meet with parents, teens, and potential volunteers
-Keep up-to-date with parish activities, needs, and duties
-Submit weekly bulletin announcements
Additionally, our Youth Ministry Coordinator plans meetings and meets with teens for HYPE, Retreat Planning, Teen Council, Talitha Koum, Y-Disciple, Middle School (CHAOS) events, and Bible and Breakfast. You will also work with our School Staff to collaborate on middle school teen needs.
During each month, this person will also be responsible for creating and managing a monthly youth ministry newsletter, check in with volunteers and small group leaders, update long-range planning, host HYPE nights, and attend Diocesan Youth Ministry trainings.
Annual events to plan for include, but not limited to, are:
-Summer Mission Trip
-Spring and Fall Retreats
-Plan and accompany teens to Steubenville Summer Youth Conference and NCYC (bi-annually)
-Plan events like church-hopping, ski trip, caroling, leaf raking, and March For Life.
Hours are full-time, and requires flexibility to work outside of the normal Monday through Friday, 8am - 4pm time period.
Bachelor's degree in education and/or theology preferred, but not required
