Job Description

The ideal Coordinator of St Patrick's Youth Ministry is genuinely passionate about helping young people grow in their faith and is deeply committed to our Catholic beliefs. They should be bold and confident in sharing the Gospel with young people and have a strong desire to help students make Jesus the center of their lives. It's also essential for the Coordinator of Youth Ministry to have a professional demeanor while being creative and driven in reaching out to new students.

The Youth Ministry department is responsible for the spiritual formation of students in grades 6-12, including preparing them for the sacrament of Confirmation. As a member of the Youth Ministry Department, the Coordinator will work on a team that includes a Confirmation Coordinator, the Director of Youth Ministry, and parish volunteers.

Key Areas of Responsibility Include:

1) VISION CASTING AND FORMATION
- Along with the Director of Youth Ministry, this person will assist with the running of the Youth Ministry programs (High School and Middle School Programs - with a particular focus on High School).
- Recruiting and forming adult volunteers.

2) PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTING YOUTH EVENTS
- Along with the rest of the staff, assist in planning and running weekly nights for both middle school and high school.
- Help plan and implement a retreat for our Confirmation Students.
- Assist the Director and Confirmation Coordinator in preparing for the Confirmation Masses.
- Help plan and chaperone a Summer Conference and/or camp experience.

3) STUDENT OUTREACH
- Working with the safe environment guidelines, attending school events, and engaging students outside of parish events (i.e., attending football games, taking kids out for a cup of coffee, visiting local school over the lunch hour)
- Work closely with the St Patrick's Grade School to minister and mentor the students
