Youth Discipleship Coordinator

The Youth Discipleship Coordinator will have the opportunity to work with a team to create an engaging and inviting program for youth to deepen their relationship with Jesus and with others while learning more about their faith. This coordinator works with the Director of Student Ministry, and is responsible for the engagement of students and their families in parish life and the confirmation program of the parish, including sacramental preparation.

General Responsibilities:
Oversee and plan the 7th/8th grade Faith Formation and Confirmation Program.
Collaborates with the Director of Student Ministry to ensure Family Formation transition and to assist in combined family and special events for FF families.
Needs to develop, train, and resource all team members (Jr. High, Youth Ministry,Young Adult*).
Collaborate with Evangelization Coordinator to implement Youth Alpha for teens and young adults*.
Oversee annual trip to Steubenville Youth Conference and follow up.
Foster the growth of personal faith and community among the leaders through regular team investment meetings.
Build relationships with the youth, parents, and families (Needs to be at ease with social interactions any setting).
Involvement with Yorkville Community.

Must-Haves:
Knowledge of Catholic faith
Able to share faith story.
Experience with youth ministry and curriculum.
Willingness to give first fruits to the ministry.
Takes initiative, follows up and is teachable.
Team-building, utilizing team's strengths for balance.
Communicate effectively and clearly in all forms (students, parents, parish, etc.)
Basic knowledge office equipment and software/database programs.
Lives within 40 minutes of Yorkville Community.

Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with SWOT analysis, 3 year planning, and brainstorming.
Experience coordinating and leading a group at a conference.
Experience with coordinating retreats.
Plays an instrument/sings.
Experience with social media.
