Job Description

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the overall general maintenance of the Worship Center, Education and Formation Building and the Rectory. The manager will perform semi-skilled building maintenance and repairs that require a working knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing/irrigation systems, HVAC and minor electrical work. Duties include the supervising of work of 3rd party contractors engaged in the operation and care of buildings, janitorial services and grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
• Maintain clean, safe and 'clutter free' facilities.
• Regularly inspects grounds/buildings and addresses concerns. Performs general maintenance functions and keeps records of tasks/repairs completed.
• Collaborate with Business Manager to establish 3rd party contracts for facility maintenance, repairs and custodial work including researching potential service providers
o Schedules, supervises, and oversees preventative maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and custodial work associated with outside contractors.
o Ensures that the maintenance of building systems meets local health, safety and annual inspection requirements. Maintain logs of permits and records as required by federal, state and local regulations.
• Perform light janitorial and groundskeeping services for Worship Center, Education and Formation Building and Rectory
• Establish and maintain HVAC schedules for regular business hours and scheduled events/usage
• Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment for
o 3rd party Janitorial services
o Operating the building system's maintenance, which includes but not limited to lighting, plumbing, landscaping, etc.
• Serve as key contact for security systems
o Establish and maintain door control access system for regular business hours and scheduled events/usage.
o Establish and maintain parking lot/building lighting/operational cycles
o Responsible for reporting any security system issues to management
• Must have experience in a maintenance role and be skilled with various hand/power tools.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and repair manuals.
• Maintains tools, equipment and assigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
• Provides general assistance as needed which may include moving office furniture, hauling, moving and disposing of items.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work as a team member with staff, volunteers and parishioners
• Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to represent parish to contractors, parishioners, external organizations and Diocese of Dallas
• Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-range plans to extend the useful life expectancy of buildings and grounds
• Effectively supervise contract workers
• Ability to document policies and procedures
• Able to prepare and track facilities budget and identify potential cost savings opportunities
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Hard worker who is a self-starter and proactive.
• Must be available to work flexible hours and weekends, if needed.
• Must be available by cell phone as required for 24 hr emergency maintenance services
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required, Undergraduate Degree preferred
• 3-5 years of facilities/maintenance experience
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word and Excel
Special Requirements:
• A Catholic in good standing is preferred.
• Must maintain a valid Texas Driver's License
• Must be able to use a personal vehicle
• Ministry related work experience in a non-profit organization
Physical Requirements Specific to the Job:
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to work on and climb elevated platforms and ladders
