Ministry: St. Margaret of Corona Transitional and Maternity Housing
Primary Office: Woodbridge
Hours per Week: 40
Telework Available: Hybrid - 1 day remote after 90 day probationary period
Starting Hourly Rate: $21.59 (non exempt)
Position Description:
Do you have excellent communication, people, and problem-solving skills, have great ideas and are a creative thinker, consider making a difference in the lives of individuals and families in need at St. Margaret of Cortona Transitional & Maternity Housing Ministry. In addition to providing general office and program support, this position is responsible for volunteer and donation, coordination, social media outreach and support of fund-raising events. The Program Assistant provides 20 hours/week coverage for the front office and must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and move projects forward with a degree of independence and initiative. The other 20 hours a week is spent providing direct services to clients and supporting the Ministry Director and staff.
Must be tech savvy and skilled in Microsoft Office including Excel. Although the typical work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, some flexibility is necessary to effectively provide office coverage and support programs and events. This is a 40 hour a week role, with four days in-office and one day of remote work permitted after the first 90 days of employment.
Position Responsibilities:
• Volunteer management to include recruitment, orientation, oversight,
• Management of statistical data: budget, grant expenditures, donations etc.
• Outreach with community stakeholders such as: donors, volunteers, parishes/institutions to increase donations, support, and awareness of the mission of SMOC.
• Work directly with expectant mothers to prepare physical apartment units for infant arrival: acquire necessary supplies.
• Update special fund tracking files annually and monthly to ensure running balance.
• Assist/monitor clients with Action Plans. Model professional skills, schedule appointments, speak to employers, navigate public system, courts, social services.
Other Duties:
• Administer drug tests per protocol.
• Facilitate unit turnovers and readiness for new clients.
• Order supplies as needed. Provide inventory control for main office and facility.
• Monitor ministry van.
• Document interactions with clients within 24 hours of service. Complete reports within timeframes.
• Accounting procedures: deposits, credit card reconciliation, vouchers
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Valid drivers license, good driving record and 3 years of driving in the US required.
• Microsoft Office fluency- Expertise in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
• Associate degree with 1 year of clerical experience in human or social services setting.
• Knowledge of Code of Ethics for both the National Association of Social Workers and the American Translators Association
• Adult and Infant CPR/First Aid & AED Certification
• Trauma Informed Care & HIPAA Practices

Physical Demands:
• The employee is required to lift 40 pounds for moderate distances.
• Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to use a computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and climb stairs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
