Job Description
Nativity Catholic School is seeking to hire a School Counselor for the '25-26 school year.Nativity Catholic School is a dynamic Preschool through 8th-grade institution dedicated to academic excellence, faith formation, and character development. We are committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students grow spiritually,
academically, and socially. As a candidate for STEM School of Excellence recognition, we integrate STEM principles throughout our curriculum to inspire critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our students. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administration to promote a positive school culture, provide individual and group counseling, and implement programs that foster student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Develop and implement programs to promote mental health, conflict resolution, and positive decision-making.
Support students in developing coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs and create intervention plans.
Support the Catholic identity and mission of the school in all aspects of the counseling program.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Valid state certification/licensure as a School Counselor.
Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
