Job Description
About Rosarian AcademyRosarian Academy, founded in 1925 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, is the only independent Catholic school in Palm Beach County. Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, the school serves students from the Montessori program (ages 1-4) through the Middle School (Grades 5-8). For nearly a century, Rosarian has been dedicated to educating the whole person-mind, body, and spirit-guided by Gospel values. The Head of School will be entrusted with upholding this legacy while leading the school into its next century of excellence.
Early Childhood
Serving children up to 5 years old, Rosarian Academy follows the Montessori philosophy of learning through all five senses. Children move at their own pace, as opposed to the traditional group pace. Under the guidance of highly trained Montessori-certified teachers, children choose concrete lessons according to their own abilities and interests. As a member of the American Montessori Society, the Early Childhood program nurtures the development of a strong sense of self-discipline, motivation, empathy, and a love of learning.
Lower School
Joy in learning characterizes Rosarian Academy's Lower School (grades K - 4), where hands-on, open-ended activities develop children's curiosity and problem-solving skills. Instruction is carefully sequenced to encourage skill consolidation and cross-curricular connections. Throughout the program, students reflect upon and explain their thought processes and gain confidence in oral and written expression. Small classes in literacy and mathematics are enhanced by a respect for diverse learning styles. Integrated lessons in Spanish enrich the program. In labs and studios, science, art, engineering, and coding generate dynamic, authentic inquiry and understanding. Traditional Dominican values of community, prayer, study, service, empathy, and grace permeate the school culture.
Middle School
A beacon of comprehensive education, Rosarian Academy's Middle School, catering to grades 5 through 8, is designed to accelerate intellectual, spiritual, and social growth, building upon the strong foundation established in the Lower School. At this crucial stage, education becomes departmentalized, offering students an in-depth learning experience across various disciplines. The curriculum covers religion, literature, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and Spanish, ensuring a broad and balanced educational experience. Rosarian Academy recognizes the importance of a well-rounded education. Hence, the middle school program includes exploratory and elective courses in coding, robotics, STEM, theater, physical education, music, and visual art. These courses offer students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and express their creativity, contributing to a holistic educational experience.
Preparing Students for Future Success
Rosarian Academy takes pride in the success of its graduates. With more than 90% of students, on average, gaining acceptance to their first choice of high school, the Middle School program at Rosarian Academy is a proven pathway to academic and personal success. The school's commitment to providing a stimulating and challenging curriculum ensures that students are well-prepared for the most desired day and boarding secondary schools and, ultimately, for the finest colleges and universities.
