Job Description

IMMEDIATE OPENING:
St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Assistant Principal/Dean of Students with managing a variety of academic, student support, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and dedicated to fostering a positive Catholic environment for students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the Assistant Principal and Dean and assist with the management of day-to-day operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, teachers, and administration, handling inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and courteous manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to student attendance, academic performance, and disciplinary actions.
Coordinate and support the planning of academic events, meetings, and conferences.
Manage student advisories/homerooms, including assignments, attendance, and general student needs.
Assist with locker assignments, chaperoning events, coordinating school pictures, and overseeing junior ring coordination.
Support transportation coordination, including East End bus transportation and driver education programs.
Facilitate the organization of school clubs, coordinating with moderators to ensure proper scheduling and communication.
Oversee student detention administration, tracking attendance and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
Help maintain the school calendar, scheduling meetings, events, and maintaining deadlines for academic and student-related activities.
Ensure the timely distribution of important academic communications to students and parents.
Manage confidential records and student information in accordance with privacy regulations and Catholic principles of respect for each person's dignity.
Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Principal/Dean of Students, supporting the overall functioning of the school in alignment with our mission to educate the whole person-mind, body, and spirit.

Professional Competencies:
Proficient in using technology and various office software applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose clear and professional correspondence.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective multitasker with great attention to detail.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
Knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents, and a passion for supporting them in their academic, spiritual, and personal growth within a Catholic educational context..

Salary Range: $19-$22 per hour
