Schedule: Full-time; Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., occasional evenings and weekends

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director of HR, the individual in this position works as a collaborative member of the Human Resources and broader University management team to identify, evaluate, develop, lead and implement initiatives and programs that deliver on the University's strategic priorities and employee value proposition. This strategy-driven and strategy-driving role provides a key linkage between the institution's future needs (mission, vision, value and strategic pillars) and the culture, organization, talent and capabilities needed to meet those needs. The role entails broad-based HR Generalist responsibilities while providing in-depth expertise in several specific functional areas as further described below.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Value Proposition
Refine, communicate and leverage our EVP focusing on Spiritual, Developmental, Social and Material wellbeing; plan and guide how best to continually integrate, advance and measure the efficacy of each element.

Engagement & Retention
Focus groups, surveys and Staff Council engagement; stay & exit interviews; new hire debriefs (hires and hiring managers). Coordination and integration of various forums and topics (e.g., engagement, satisfaction, culture, vision / values, rewards, benefits, family-friendly practices, leadership effectiveness, etc.). Facilitate related data analytics, reporting and action planning.

Culture & Community Building
Create and manage a comprehensive annual CCB plan of Lunch and Learns - - continue, expand and track; community / socializing events - - continue, expand and track; spiritual, recognition & celebration events - - continue, expand and track; Animating our values by incorporating them explicitly into these events and activities; creating ways to build awareness, appreciation and empathy across departments.

Operational Effectiveness & Productivity Tools & Support
Develop personal skill set for conducting process reviews; develop and implement a plan for building that capability within FUS; develop and implement a plan for supporting various departments' efforts in process review and improvement such as RAMP, Spans & Layers, Controls, Six-Sigma.

Employee Relations
Provides manager coaching, conducts fact-finding investigations, facilitates joint resolution meetings, and guides managers in determining and implementing discipline as needed.. Ensures regular maintenance (review/updating), and periodic related communications as needed, of the Staff Employee Handbook and University-wide Organization Chart.


Career Pathing & Internal Mobility
Continually gage external best practices and internal efficacy of internal mobility, career pathing, planning and development opportunities and processes. Develop and implement an L&D strategy including skills needs analyses, skill and knowledge building training offerings and related support.

HR Operations, Services and Compliance
Primary responsibility for effectively balancing employee needs, industry best practices, compliance and affordability in one or more of the following areas: Benefits Plan evaluation, recommendations, and TPA management; Compensation Strategy including salary administration practices, market pricing and pay-for-performance; HRIS roadmap, legacy system transition and related HR process improvement efforts.

REQUIREMENTS
Must understand, support, and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

Work Experience
Minimum of 8 years of direct human resources generalist or specialist experience including significant project / program management; higher education or related industry experience is a plus. Substantive experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Employee Benefits Planning & Management; Compensation Planning and Management; and/or HRIS and HR Analytics Implementation.

Education / Credentials
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the field of Human Resources, Business, Communications, Education, Marketing, Social Work / Counseling or other program of study directly related to the position responsibilities
• Human Resources (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) or Benefits Administration (CEBS, IFEBP) Certification is a plus.
Technical Skills
• Must have demonstrated experience and track record of achievements in at least one area of human resources management / administration. Generalist experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with Federal and State employment laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular). Database management, Adobe and / or Paycom HRIS experience is a plus.
