Job Summary:

The Donor Relations Coordinator supports the work of the Director of Mission Advancement by increasing the quality of our relationship with our donors who support the life and Catholic evangelization mission of the Daughters of St. Paul. The main work of the Donor Relations Coordinator is to increase donor retention and expand our reach to new donor markets and invite more people to generosity by becoming donors. The Donor Relations Coordinator works directly with the Director of Mission Advancement and is responsible for overseeing all donor relations activities, which include but are not limited to our mail program, donor prospect programs, foundation grant program, donor communications, gift processing and acknowledgement, and donor recordkeeping.

This is a part-time hourly wage position working from the Daughters of St. Paul Motherhouse in Jamaica Plain, MA, with opportunities for occasional remote work. The position may require occasional travel to conferences and donor meetings.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Management

Help facilitate the strategic design, organization and implementation of both short and long-term development and communications plans

Assist in creating systems and processes that ensure effective communication and coordination with our donors

Help develop and manage the annual budget and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses

Implement projects to address funding priorities, outline programs, and achieve consensus on appropriate funding initiatives and communications

Fundraising

Carry out a strategic plan for donor care and stewardship and cultivation

Develop, implement, and manage year-round annual fund program to maintain current donor base and increase donor giving, including direct mail, email, social media, phone, and other appeals to donors.

o Increase use of social media and online platforms to identify and invite younger donors

Develop, implement, and manage program to cultivate, solicit, and track foundation grants in collaboration with program staff.

Expand opportunities for receiving bequests through promotion of MyCatholicWill.com

Expand outreach to convert customers to donors

Monitor and maintain our contact management plan that will primarily focus on donor retention, acquisition and cultivation

Support efforts to cultivate and solicit major gifts. Identify, research, and qualify major and mid-level gift prospects. Help plan and organize special events for major and mid-level gift donors and prospects.

Help to ensure persuasive and consistent messaging that clearly articulates the mission of the Daughters of St Paul in appeals, grant proposals, brochures, and other development marketing materials.

Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to report and improve campaign performance.

Working with the Director of Mission Advancement and Trinity Direct, execute the Daughters of St. Paul's solicitation, gift acknowledgement, and donor correspondence program to include segmentation and list selection.

Manage recordkeeping for donors and foundations in member database.

Create and manage office systems to support development operations.

Communications

Direct strategic communications and public relations plans to support vocational growth and formational development, donor relations and promotion of the Daughters of St. Paul mission and projects

Integrate all organizational communications so that donor outreach, publications, website and social media, marketing, and media relations are in sync and support a unified message

Involve the Daughters of St. Paul communities in effective major gift solicitation processes

Participate in staff meetings to plan and coordinate activities that promote the mission of the Daughters of St. Paul

Qualifications for this position include:

Ability to work as part of a team.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to start and resume work on projects amid changing priorities, with capacity to meet deadlines.

High-level proficiency with Microsoft 365 office programs and Windows-based computers, and at least general facility with cloud-based database programs.

Excellent donor relations and management skills.

Minimum five years' experience in donor relations. A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
