Job Description

Vibrant, large, suburban Vatican II parish is looking for a music director adept both on organ and piano to continue a flourishing music program and work collaboratively with a large Parish staff team. Vocalist skills, aptitude with technology, including sound systems, and an awareness of copyright and licensing procedures are all beneficial. Applicants must have a proven ability to engage and activate the congregation in liturgical music. Salary competitive & commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include:

-selecting worship music appropriate to our parish culture for weekend liturgies, holy days, sacramental liturgies, and additional services
-extensive knowledge of Catholic traditional, contemporary and praise music
-directing 3 choirs with weekly rehearsals for weekend liturgies and 2 concerts (Sept-June): 1. Adult Sunday morning choir 2. Contemporary youth choir and musicians on Sunday evenings 3. Children's choir (one Sunday and 2 rehearsals per month)
-scheduling and rehearsing with our parish cantors year-round for liturgies, concerts and special events
-primary organist for weddings, funerals, and baptisms
-managing the entire choral library and the record keeping for the music ministry
-attending staff meetings & events
