Job Title: Video & Content Editor / YouTube

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Catholic Answers is seeking a skilled Video & Content Editor to support our daily Catholic apologetics program, Catholic Answers Live. This role is responsible for editing, optimizing, and posting video and audio content across multiple platforms, focusing on growing our reach and audience engagement on YouTube and other digital channels. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in video editing, content optimization, audience identification and nurturing. The Position reports to the Director of Radio and will be part of a dynamic team producing the #1 Catholic radio program as they build for the future and work toward audience reach and growth in all media channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Run and Monitor Daily Livestream of Catholic Answers Live program:
• Oversee the daily video livestream of Catholic Answers Live.
• Ensure seamless streaming quality on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, (embedded on Catholic.com) and X. Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.

2. Post-Show Optimization & Posting to YouTube
• Edit and optimize full episodes of Catholic Answers Live (CALive) daily.
• Ensure high-quality video and audio presentation to engage YouTube audiences.
• Create thumbnails, add descriptions, trim pre-show, add timecodes, tags, end screens.

3. YouTube Clips & Shorts Creation
• Edit and post daily engaging clips and shorts from CALive for YouTube.
• Identify compelling segments that can resonate with audiences as standalone clips.
• Produce each clip creating unique and engaging thumbnails, clickable titles, and descriptions for SEO.

4. YouTube Channel Optimization and Maintenance
• Maintain and update the Catholic Answers YouTube channel.
• Optimize channel layout, playlists, and content descriptions.
• Stay informed about the latest YouTube trends and adjust strategies accordingly.

5. Metrics
• Track and analyze performance metrics on YouTube, X, Catholic.com and other relevant channels.
• Create reports to inform and support strategic growth decisions.

6. Longform Interview Editing & Posting
• Produce, edit, and post monthly longform interviews for YouTube.
• Identify and edit clips from long form interviews, optimizing for YouTube and other platforms.
• Edit longform content to a 55-minute audio format suitable for radio syndication.
• Prepare and distribute audio files for aggregators, ensuring consistent quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience in video editing (Da Vinci Resolve, or Premiere Pro)
• Strong understanding of YouTube optimization techniques and best practices for online platforms
• Proven track record in growing online audiences
• Solid graphic design skills to create compelling thumbnails and visual elements
• Ability to create and interpret performance metrics dashboards.
• Exceptional understanding of the Catholic faith, its teachings and practices
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Creative and initiative mindset

Position is onsite in our El Cajon, CA office
