Job Description
The Newman Guide Network Liaison is a member of The Cardinal Newman Society staff under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Newman Guide Programs. This is a full-time salaried position (although we are open to part-time hours for a highly qualified candidate) at the Society's national office in western Prince William County, Virginia. The position requires occasional travel. Salary is commensurate with experience.The Cardinal Newman Society promotes and defends faithful Catholic education. As a Catholic organization recognized by the Church, The Cardinal Newman Society is bound to conform to Catholic teaching and practices in all its policies and activities. The Newman Guide Programs team has a vital role in the mission of The Cardinal Newman Society, teaching the value of faithful Catholic education and promoting the faithful institutions and programs recognized in The Newman Guide. It strives to increase faithful Catholic education and thereby assist the Church's evangelization. It promotes fidelity to the mission of Catholic education and to the Catholic faith, including teaching and defending the Church's doctrine on the human person, the family, morality, faith development, and education. The team conducts all its activities in accord with Catholic principles.
The Newman Guide Network Liaison represents The Cardinal Newman Society to Catholic education leaders in schools, homeschool programs, colleges, graduate programs, other education programs, and dioceses to promote The Newman Guide and Newman Guide standards and support the work of the Newman Guide Leaders Network. The position requires skills in public relations, sales, project management, and marketing. Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with the Newman Guide Network Administrative Coordinator and other staff to plan and develop activities of the Newman Guide Leaders Network, a coalition of Catholic education leaders from institutions recognized in The Newman Guide.
• Coordinate and host working group meetings, the biennial Leaders Summit, and communications for the Newman Guide Leaders Network through the Network's online platform.
• Communicate and cultivate relationships with Catholic education and diocesan leaders and enlist faithfully Catholic institutions to adopt Newman Guide standards and apply for Newman Guide recognition through phone, email, and in-person visits.
• Serve as the primary contact for Newman Guide applicants throughout the Newman Guide application process, tracking each applicant's progress and maintaining communication with the applicants and Newman Guide reviewers.
• Collaborate with the Vice President for Marketing and Communications to reach Catholic education and diocesan leaders through email programs (such as Constant Contact) and social media.
• Collaborate with the Vice President for Newman Guide Programs and Vice President for Marketing and Communications to develop clear and effective messaging to promote the Newman Guide standards and applications to The Newman Guide.
• Build and manage constituent lists.
• Report weekly on all activities to the Vice President for Newman Guide Programs.

• Advocate faithful Catholic education and fidelity to Catholic teaching.
Qualifications for this position include:
• Dedication to the mission and ideals of The Cardinal Newman Society, including its "Commitment to Fidelity and Excellence."
• A practicing and faithful Catholic who is committed to Catholic tradition, teachings, and education.
• Experience with Catholic education, preferably Newman Guide institutions.
• A college degree and at least five years in a related field (public relations, sales, project management, marketing, or Catholic education) is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally and engage persuasively with education and Church leaders at all levels.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to start and resume work on projects amid changing priorities, with capacity to meet deadlines.
• High-level proficiency with Microsoft 365 office programs, email applications, and Windows-based computers.
