Job Description
ABOUT THE EMPLOYER - A Catholic religious community in Denver, Colorado made up of approximately 70 members whose primary ministerial focus is on the poor and suffering.POSITION SUMMARY- The Social Media Manager will play a critical role in advancing the marketing and communications objectives of the community through the effective use of digital and social media platforms. The five core objectives of the marketing and communications office are to:
1. Increase brand awareness.
2. Inspire and attract future vocation candidates.
3. Evangelize by spreading the Gospel and promoting the charism of the community.
4. Increase donor base and contributions.
5. Retain existing donors.
This position works collaboratively with the Director of Communications and Director of Marketing to ensure consistency in overall messaging.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
- Plan, produce, and edit both long-format and short-form video content (e.g., Facebook Shorts, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
- Create compelling thumbnails and optimize videos for maximum visibility and engagement.
- Curate, schedule, and publish content with an emphasis on storytelling and audience engagement.
2. Video Production and Photography:
- Produce high-quality video content, including scripting, filming, and editing.
- Capture professional-grade photography for use in campaigns and posts.
- Manage and organize video and photo assets.
- Be accessible to film as needed for various video projects.
3. Social Media Advertising and Marketing:
- Design and manage paid social media campaigns to meet specific goals (e.g., lead generation, awareness, event promotion).
- Monitor ad performance and adjust strategies to optimize ROI.
- Collaborate with other team members to create integrated marketing strategies.
4. Livestream Management:
- Coordinate and execute live broadcasts on platforms like Facebook and YouTube using tools such as OBS and Prism Live Studio.
- Monitor livestreams to ensure high-quality production and real-time
troubleshooting.
5. Analytics and Optimization:
- Track and analyze key metrics to measure campaign success and audience engagement.
- Use insights to refine strategies and create data-driven recommendations for future initiatives.
6. Email Marketing and Writing:
- Craft and manage email marketing campaigns with a focus on audience segmentation and performance metrics.
- Write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for posts, campaigns, and email communications.
7. Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with team members and other departments to align social media efforts with organizational goals.
- Serve as a collaborative partner in cross-functional initiatives.
- Take initiative and work independently to identify opportunities and solve challenges.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience in video production and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or Buffer).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for social media and video content.
- Experience with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Blackbaud, Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and basic HTML ideal.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Strong creative instincts and desire to excel.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Passionate love for Jesus Christ and strong commitment and understanding of the Catholic faith.
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in social media management or digital marketing.
- Minimum two years of experience in a non-profit work environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in video production, livestreaming, and social media advertising.
- Public relations, marketing, sales, community management experience, or online advertising experience is a plus.
- Preference given to candidates with a Catholic theology degree.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - this position requires adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to staying current in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. Some evenings or weekends may be required to manage live events or time-sensitive campaigns.

COMPENSATION for this position will be commensurate with skills and experience. Salary range: $55,000-$80,000.
