Job Description

OVERVIEW

Lial Catholic School, a PreK-8th grade Catholic School located in Whitehouse, OH, is seeking a Principal to begin July 1st, 2025.

The principal is the school's Chief Academic Officer appointed by the Head of School and reports to the Head of School. In collaboration with the Head of School, the Principal is responsible for all educational programs and outcomes. The Principal provides faculty support and supervision and directs all student and faculty programs. The Principal is the instructional leader responsible for developing, modeling, and communicating a strong, mission-focused school culture. Additionally, the Principal will be a community builder, strengthening the partnerships between faculty, students, and parents.

This role manages Lial's educational programs while supporting the school's overall faith formation, business operations, communications and public relations, enrollment, alumni relations, and fundraising efforts.

The search committee seeks candidates who are capable and comfortable providing visible leadership in faith life, academics, and the broader community. Candidates must be practicing Catholics.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Practicing Catholic who possesses the knowledge and skills to share and live the truths of the Catholic Faith with students, parents, and staff.
2. State of Ohio administrative certificate, or equivalent (preferred)
3. Experience in Catholic Schools and experience with multi-age, continuous progress, or Montessori education (preferred)
4. Administrative experience (preferred)
5. Master's Degree
6. Evidence of competency in management, communication, and
collaborative skills

SELECTED RESPONSIBILITIES
Catholic Identity
• Serve as a spiritual leader and religious educator of the school,
active in living and promoting the Catholic faith
• Establish and uphold a discipline infrastructure grounded in
Catholic values and discipleship of Jesus Christ that holds all
students accountable for meeting high expectations in
accordance with Lial's Code of Conduct.
• Ensure that the faith is an integral part of the school curriculum
and that the school is a partner with parents in the Catholic
formation of their children

Programmatic Excellence
• Serve as the Chief Academic Officer of Lial and oversee all
aspects of teaching and learning in collaboration with the Head
of School.
• Ensure that teachers regularly collaborate with each other and use data and input from multiple sources to provide excellent instruction that supports the academic growth and achievement of all students.
• Ensure that Lial's multi-age, continuous progress, and non-graded philosophy is carried out in all aspects of the Lial educational program.
• Provide for the ongoing professional learning of all teachers, including the use of effective teaching strategies for all students, especially in the areas of multi-age, continuous progress, and non-graded education.

Operational Vitality
• Work with the Head of School to establish and adhere to a yearly school budget and maintain compliance with relevant State of Ohio programs such as school choice and auxiliary service providers.
• Maintain school accreditation with the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association.
