Job Description
Saint Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Massapequa, NY is seeking a Campus Minister and Coordinator of Youth Ministry for the parish and school to bring students, faculty, and parishioners into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ as a real living person. He/she will teach several grade levels of religion class as well as work with other faculty in implementing and strengthening the Catholic identity of the school and parish at-large.Campus Minister
• Teaching Theology to Grade 5-8 (potentially up to 26 periods per week)
• Fulfilling all requirement for teaching position (including but not limited to)
o Two duty periods per week
o preparing weekly lessons plans
o assessing and grading students
o meeting with parents for report cards
o chaperoning middle school events as assigned
• Coordinating the sacramental preparation of school students with the Administrator of the Parish Faith Formation program
• Preparing and leading school Masses
• Preparing and leading school retreats
• Leading faculty retreat and religion PD when necessary
Coordinator of Youth Ministry
• Attend and organize monthly Faith and Sports events for middle school and high school students.
• Create a strategic plan to grow youth ministry beyond the established middle school ministry that already takes place.
• Attend monthly Parish Holy Hour.
• Collaborate with the Administrator of Faith Formation and be especially present with middle school level students.
o Work with older un-catechized students to prepare them for sacraments initiation sacraments (ie. baptism, first reconciliation, first communion)
o Facilitator/Master Catechist for large group 7th/8th grade Chosen sessions
o Facilitator for large group 6th grade Intro to Adoration
o Facilitator for sponsor/candidate sessions (7th and/or 8th grade)
o Participation in Confirmation Evening of Prayer Retreat (9th grade candidates)
• Collaborate with the Director of Evangelization.
• Attend monthly staff meetings with the pastoral staff.
