St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy in Brooklyn is seeking a full-time Middle School teacher for grades 5-7 Science and Social Studies for the remainder of the 2024-2025school year.St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy (SSKCA) located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is seeking a dedicated, quality full-time Middle School Teacher. SSKCA invites passionate educators to apply for the teacher position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
As part of the greater community of the Catholic Schools within the Brooklyn Diocese, the Teacher Candidate will be expected to take on a range of responsibilities, including:
•Provide classroom instruction based on the 5-7 Grade Science/STEM and Social Studies NGSS Learning Standards and the Diocese of Brooklyn Curriculum.
• Provide students with age-appropriate academic instruction within a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment to help them develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically.
• Collaborating with colleagues to plan units and lessons and develop expertise in implementing instruction while actively engaging in our Professional Learning Communities.
• Implement positive behavior management support programs aligned with school guidelines.
• Fulfilling the school's mission to educate the whole child, mind, body, and spirit.
• Taking accountability for student learning and for meeting classroom performance goals.
• Using tests, assessments, classroom performance, and other designated evaluation and diagnostic tools to assess the progress of students, and drive instruction and intervention.
• Provide services to all children and families with respect, confidentiality and dignity while exhibiting knowledge of and sensitivity to the educational and socio-economic needs of the children and families served in the program.
• Maintain an open, frequent dialogue with the school principal and staff regarding all things pertaining to the elementary classroom, students and parents.
• Support and maintain positive partnerships within the school building through attendance at all necessary meetings, open houses, programs , and school events.
• Participate in Professional Development sessions as provided by the Diocese of Brooklyn.
• Respond to parent concerns and requests with professionalism and as a partner in the education of each child.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification - Bachelor's Degree and passion for teaching,
Master's Degree in Education and NYS Teacher Certification is preferred but not required.
