The St. Francis Cathedral School is a Catholic Pre-K to 8th grade school in the Diocese of Metuchen (Metuchen, NJ) with over 400 students.

The St. Francis educational model offers a holistic approach to all subject areas that recognizes each child's unique gifts while being mindful of their needs as learners. The St. Francis Cathedral School is looking for an Early Childhood Center Coordinator and Instructor who is committed and faithful to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and Magisterium. We are also looking for a suitable candidate who is familiar with the philosophies and teaching methods of the Montessori education model.

Title: Early Childhood Center Coordinator and Instructor
Reports to: Principal
Position summary: This position is responsible for providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining comprehensive educational programs and the ongoing development, assessment, and improvement of the curriculum, instruction, and professional development for Pre-Kindergarten

Work Year: 12 Months
Work Hours: Full time

Previous Montessori experience, preferred

Qualifications:
Earned a Masters's degree in educational leadership or similarly aligned course of study
Current or in process of administrative licensure (supervisor or principal), preferred
Possess a thorough, relevant, and demonstrated knowledge and background in curriculum and instruction in Pre-Kindergarten and Montessori education, preferred.
Troubleshooting: Be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions.
Critical Thinking: Think critically in their process of task management. This individual must discern how to prioritize task and personnel assignments.
Be self-driven, possess excellent initiative, integrity, and good moral character.
Possess ability to work effectively and efficiently alone, and cooperatively with other personnel.
Exhibit personality traits that demonstrate interpersonal skills that relate well to students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
Other qualifications as the Principal may find appropriate

Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Serve as a contributing member of the early childhood center as a leader and consultant
Organize, plan, implement, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs, including curriculum development and instruction in all content areas in early childhood.
Develop and recommend to the Principal budget actions supporting curriculum, instruction, and professional development in early childhood. Ensure that the recommended budget actions are in accordance with budget development directives and is comprehensively detailed.
Conduct classroom visitations and assess educational effectiveness and assist the school principal in establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Coordinate and supervise curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation activities within the established schedule in ECC.
Coordinate data collection and reporting
Conduct and develop professional development for faculty and staff base on evaluation data and conducted classroom observation for ECC.
Maintain a positive, collaborative, and mutually supportive working relationship with community agencies, parents, students, and district and school staff.
Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as required by the diocese of Metuchen, regulations of the school, or requested by the school principal.
Answer correspondence promptly.
Represent, consistently, the School and Cathedral community in a positive and professional manner.
Meet with the Principal regularly to discuss and set policy/programs, create yearly religious and professional goals, review/update handbooks, organize yearly activities for the calendar.
Meet with teachers, pupils, parents/guardians as needed
Attend monthly Home School Association Board meetings, SAC meetings, and general HSA meetings
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
