Job Description

Mission:
Villa is a Catholic college-preparatory school committed to helping young women discern who they are and grow into the disciples God calls them to be, as revealed by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

At Villa, young women learn to think critically, to act collaboratively, to reason independently, and to develop leadership skills that focus on Christian values, inclusiveness, and responsibility to and for the common good.

Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of theology courses to 9th-11th grade students with focus on students' spiritual formation
- Chaperone retreats and service site visits, showcasing how the Catholic faith is applicable in the real world
- Model Catholic values with colleagues and students through a service-oriented, collaborative approach
- Implement the latest knowledge and best practices in pedagogy, curriculum development, technology, and student assessment
- Develop well-structured lessons with measurable objectives and appropriate student engagement strategies, pacing, sequence, activities, materials, resources, and grouping
- Design and administer a variety of formative and summative assessments to measure student learning
- Identify and implement appropriate differentiated interventions and enhancements for students
- Use technology (including online resources and a learning management system) to organize and enhance student learning
- Provide parents with clear expectations for student learning
- Reflect on practice, seek and respond to feedback, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and development

Qualifications:
- Mission-oriented, practicing Catholic with a bachelor's degree in theology
- 1-2 years theology teaching experience with strong classroom management and communication skills

Compensation/Requirements:
Competitive compensation and benefits package is provided; exact compensation will vary based on experience and education.
