St. Michael School - Penn Yan, New YorkPOSITION: Principal at St. Michael School, school year 2025-2026
START DATE: ASAP
REPORTS TO: Pastor of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish and the Superintendent of Catholic Schools
The Diocese of Rochester Department of Catholic Schools is seek a principal who is committed to Catholic Education and can effectively lead St. Michael school in the fulfillment of the mission to nurture the faith and intellect of students in grades Prekindergarten through fifth grade.
The principal serves as the spiritual and instructional leader of the school and is responsible for all aspects of school operations and safe environment protocols.
Qualified candidates must have an understanding of the New York State Learning Standards and possess or be working towards certification as a School Building Leader and/or School District Leader and a minimum of 4 years of teaching experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Practicing Catholic in good standing - must have the ability to obtain a letter from a pastor of good standing.
• Possess or working toward certification as a School Building Leader and/or School District Leader;
• Experience as an elementary teacher and/or administrator;
• Experience with curriculum development;
• Experience with staffing and staff development;
• Strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders;
• Proficient with current instructional technology practices.
