Job Description

1. Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective strategic plans, policies, and procedures.
a. Executes all Board-approved policies. Coordinates with the Board to develop a mission and vision for the organization.
b. Implements short-run and long-run strategic planning. Sets overall objectives including facilities, research and development, and marketing.
c. Develops and implements operational plans, policies, and goals that further strategic objectives and support the SICU's business plan. Continually evaluates the credit union's operations and modifies as needed.
d. Continually monitors the general economic environment and industry trends. Updates policies, plans, and goals to be commensurate with external conditions.
e. Ensures the preparation and submission of all compliance, insurance, and report documents are accurate and timely.

2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective financial policies.

a. Processes capital expenditures and the acquisition and disposition of assets as authorized by the Board of Directors.
b. Analyzes and advises the Board of Directors on the development of SICU's credit, pricing, and investment policies.
c. Prepares and reviews financial and operating statements. Examines and assesses profitability and identifies potential problem areas.
d. Develops and proposes budgets to the Board of Directors. Ensures that operating results established in the annual budget are achieved, that expenses are reviewed and controlled, and profits are maximized.
e. Oversees development and implementation of internal accounting and financial controls as are necessary to preserve company assets. Ensures that accounting activities and reports are in accordance with established policies and applicable legal requirements, accurately reflect SICU's financial position, and provide the necessary information for managerial decision-making.

3. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of SICU's administrative support functions.
a. Ensures IT functions are efficient and provide useful, pertinent information to personnel, management, and the Board of Directors.
b. Ensures human resources policies and programs effectively support company-wide needs and objectives and are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
c. Ensures facilities and equipment are well maintained and in good repair.

4. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of company sales and marketing functions.
a. Conducts regular reviews of marketing and sales activities and implements corrective actions or suggestions as needed.
b. Ensure sales and marketing activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures and maintains program integrity.
c. Stays informed of the company's marketing position and formulates responses to increase sales and market share.
5. Assumes responsibility for ensuring the effective performance of research and production functions.

a. Oversee production purchasing and implementation of appropriate cost controls and budgeting standards.
b. Oversee development of research and development projects to ensure future credit union growth.

6. Effectively supervises and coordinates personnel, ensuring optimal performance. Establishes and maintains effective communication with Credit Union personnel and Board of Directors.
a. Oversees the establishment and implementation of optimal organizational structures, policies, and procedures.
b. Directs and coordinates activities of subordinates. Provides assistance and support as required.
c. Establishes effective reporting and communication mechanisms with personnel to ensure appropriate and adequate information flow throughout. Conducts regular staff meetings.
d. Provides leadership to Credit Union personnel through effective objective setting and delegation.
e. Ensures personnel are well trained, effective and efficient.

f. Conducts performance appraisals as required. Provides suggestions for improved performance. Implements corrective action as needed.
g. Keeps the Board of Directions informed of Credit Union activities and of any significant concerns. Provides recommendations to improve credit union performance.
h. Completes required reports and documents.
i. Oversees preparation of payroll. Prepares budget recommendations to the Board of Directors on wage administration.

7. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and professional business relations with members, the Board of Directors, stakeholders, trade organizations, and other business contacts.
a. Acts as principal representative of the Credit Union.
b. Ensures information is obtained and conveyed as needed and that problems or inquiries are promptly resolved.
c. Ensures the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained

8. Sells financial services and loans to customers based on their needs and qualifications. a. Opens accounts, sells and redeems certificates of deposit, and originates loans. b. Increases financial services and lending volume to ensure the growth and success of SICU. c. Complies with federal, state and local financial services and lending laws and regulations. d. Communicates these laws in a non-technical and conversational manner to others. e. Prepares and maintains timely and accurate loan and deposit accounts files.
f. Processes payments, collects past due loans, and negotiates debt settlements.
g. Maintains acceptable minimum levels of bad debt write-off.

9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors. Qualifications
Education/Certification:
• A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
