Job Description
Title: College Admissions LiaisonDepartment: Guidance
Reports to: Assistant Principal for Guidance
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
The College Admissions Liaison will be responsible for building relationships with college admissions offices as well as with students and families to maximize college admissions outcomes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides an exciting opportunity to build our already outstanding college placement program through developing relationships with individual college admissions offices, assisting specific constituencies in navigating the application process (ie, first generation students), researching scholarship and grant award opportunities, cultivating lasting alumni networks, and more.
Specific responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Assistant Principal for Guidance and the College Placement Coordinator, the College Admissions Liaison is responsible for expanding the scope of the opportunities afforded to our students, including, but not limited to:
-Attending counselor events locally and nationally
-Maintaining active memberships in various counseling organizations
-Researching financial aid possibilities for individual families.
-Meeting, advising, and counseling both students and families about opportunities that may be available through scholarships, grants, and loans
-Developing a network of graduates to successfully recruit and mentor Kellenberg students at their colleges and beyond
-Working with families of promising students to create strong applications for highly competitive schools
-Coordinating workshops and events that will assist in the college selection process
-Identifying and implementing new technology and resources
-Actively maintaining web-based resources
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. He or she will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively to support the mission of Kellenberg Memorial. An ability to travel both locally and beyond is a must; therefore, excellent time management and organizational skills are essential. Proficiency with technology, specifically Naviance, Powers school and other data management systems is desired. Salary range is 65-75k.
Bilingual not mandatory but preferred.
