Job Description
CBC is seeking a motivated and experienced Development Specialist to join our team. This part-time role (10-15 hours per week, with potential for growth based on success) will play a pivotal role in advancing our fundraising efforts, with a focus on increasing contributions to our endowment fund, creating additional fundraising initiatives, and advising on benefit sponsorship opportunities.Key Responsibilities:
1. Development Planning:
- Create a brief development plan, including metrics and a loose 12-month operational calendar for development activities.
2. Content Development:
- Compile relevant success stories, impact data, and organizational updates for use in fundraising materials.
- Regularly update and distribute bulletins with CBC's latest news and achievements.
3. Donor Research and Engagement:
- Research and identify potential donors, partners, and funding opportunities.
- Develop and implement a systematic approach to engaging with potential donors and partners.
4. Fundraising Asks:
- Craft compelling pitches tailored to diverse audiences and funding sources.
- Develop strategies for effective asks through in-person meetings, phone calls, and written communications.
5. Marketing and Branding Materials:
- Design and produce brochures, pamphlets, and other informational materials showcasing CBC's mission and impact.
- Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all materials.
6. Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, partners, and supporters.
- Plan and execute events and meetings to engage stakeholders and foster donor relationships.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
• Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to create compelling fundraising materials.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with nonprofit development strategies, including donor engagement and pipeline management.
• Passion for CBC's mission and values.
Hours and Compensation:
• Part-time: 10-15 hours per week to start, with potential for additional hours based on performance and success.
• Compensation commensurate with experience.
