Job Description

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spanish Translator to assist with translating various materials from English to both Castilian Spanish and Mexican Spanish. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for bilingual communication, cultural engagement, and our Catholic faith.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate letters, emails, social media posts, and web content accurately from English into Castilian Spanish and/or Mexican Spanish.
- Ensure that all translations maintain the original tone and context while being culturally relevant to the target audience.
- Collaborate with staff to understand translation needs and deadlines.
- Proofread translated materials for accuracy and clarity.
- Adapt content to meet the linguistic preferences of different Spanish-speaking audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with a strong grasp of Castilian and Mexican dialects.
- Previous experience in translation, particularly in a religious or community-focused setting, is preferred.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and web content management systems is a plus.
