Job Description

Position: HR Generalist

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Schedule: This full-time position will work out of the Augustine Institute home office in the Greater Saint Louis, Missouri area. (Florrisant)

Reporting to: Head of People

Position Summary

The HR Generalist provides support for HR programs including employee health and welfare plans, recognition programs, and performance management. The HR Generalists ensures the administration of plans is in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.

*Specific duties are listed below but may not be all-inclusive.

Supports the recruitment and interview process, including interview scheduling, coordination of on-site interview agendas, adding and removing job postings across multiple sites, and assisting hiring managers with coordination as needed.
Tracks the status of candidates in ATS and responds with follow-up communication throughout and at the end of the recruiting process.
Schedules, coordinates, and completes onboarding requests and documentation including compliance documentation (I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files).
Conducts internal HR Compliance audits of benefit programs, I-9s, and worker's compensation, and other HR compliance requirements as needed.
Provides support for independent contractor assignments and agreements, approvals, renewals, and revisions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field and at least two years of human resource experience; or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
At least 3 years of professional experience supporting HR or people-functions

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, dynamics of employee development and professional growth, and training program design and presentation.
Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.
Ability to plan, organize and present training activities to diverse employee groups.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, typing and use of office equipment, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in a climate-controlled office setting.
