Job Description

Job Title: Admissions Counselor

Department: Admissions

Reports to: Director of Admissions

Position Summary:

The Admissions Counselor is principally responsible for recruiting applicants for admission to Wyoming Catholic College. He or she will work in tandem with other Admission Counselors to execute the strategies designed by the Director of Admissions and Dean of Student Services and provide valuable insights into improvements on process. The Admissions Counselor will manage a student worker in pursuit of the recruiting efforts of the college.

Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities

Recruit:

Carry a portion of the application load including processing and evaluation of applications. Represent Wyoming Catholic College at select off-site events such as college fairs, conferences, and school visits.
Partner with the Financial Aid Office to help families understand the cost of attendance and the financial packages awarded.
Lead meetings and tours with prospective students and parents.
Execute open house programs, and campus visits, scholarship weekends PEAK summer programs and other recruitment events in collaboration with the Director of Admission.

Manage:

Present candidates for admission to the Faculty Admission Team.
Manage effective use of college CRM (Populi).
Complete routine reports related to recruitment, projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
Supervise a student intern, delegating specific elements of the recruitment process as appropriate.

Strategize:

Understand the strategies developed for recruitment including marketing materials, communications, events and schedules.
Help inform the overall strategies of the admissions office by providing insight on effectiveness and feasibility.
Evaluate process effectiveness, assess outcomes, and develop improved strategies to achieve goals
Evaluate cost analyses for recruitment efforts
Each counselor will be asked to take on a special assignment, consistent with their skills and interests:

Campus Visit Coordination
Founders Scholarship Competition Liaison
Peak Program Director
Experience and Qualifications

Ability to articulate with clarity WCC's unique program of study and formation
Bachelor's degree, preferably from a newman guide, great books or similar college
Previous experience in admission, recruitment, and/or marketing preferred
Previous experience as supervisor of a team and projects.
Excellent oral and written grammar and communication skills:
Oral - telephone, one-on-one, large and small groups of parents, students
Written - social media, emails, letters, promotional literature
Familiarity with database systems, such as Populi
Ability to plan and organize, keep a calendar, maintain schedules, and meet deadlines
Attentiveness to detail
Sensitivity to working with and maintaining confidential information
Self-direction and motivation
Ability to handle stress due to competing travel and office duties
A sense of humor and a positive attitude
Familiarity with word processors and spreadsheets
Adeptness at use of social media platforms including, Facebook, Instagram, etc.; capacity to keep up with changes and new platforms as they arise
Valid Driver's License
Travel Requirements

Extended out-of-state travel (between 25%-33%)
Extended periods of travel and work on weekends and nights
