JOB TITLE: Evangelium Institute (EI) Instructor
JOB STATUS: Full or Part Time
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Over 50 miles
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director

Our Mission Statement: The Evangelium Institute (EI) offers dynamic formation to adults in the Archdiocese of Omaha. We strive to bring those we serve closer to a lasting experience of Jesus Christ and His Church. Faithful to the Magisterium and to the local bishop, EI offers dynamic catechesis, small group facilitation, catechetical training as well as retreat experiences in partnership with the Archdiocese of Omaha's Catholic Schools Office, Office of the Permanent Diaconate, and other stake holders within the archdiocese.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Instructors for EI are involved in the work of evangelization, discipleship, formation, and catechesis. They are actively involved in the creation of content and spiritual formation for Catholics through catechetical programs that stress the call to prayer, virtue, and holiness of life. The particular target audience for EI's programs are those who have the responsibility to teach and/or model the faith to others, whether they are in religious education programs, Catholic schools, or the parish.

The EI instructor is a key member of the team and works in collaboration with EI staff and EI's clients in order to develop curriculum for a variety of audiences. This person must possess good communication and oral presentation skills as he/she will be called upon to present the Church's teaching to various audiences, with a focus on teachers in the Catholic schools. Instructors must have the ability to use a computer effectively and must be self-motivated as he/she offices off-site. Other key duties include attendance at meetings with EI staff and the Executive Director, regular reports about the work being done, willingness to attend fundraising events, and to speak to potential donors. The position reports directly to the Executive Director.

COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience, education, and full or part time status. Benefits are offered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following list reflects general duties and responsibilities for this position and is not exhaustive.
Personal:
• A Catholic in good standing who lives the sacramental life and displays a regular prayer life.
• Avoids public scandal that runs counter to the moral teaching of the Catholic Church and/or to sensibilities which could alienate EI's clients.

Financial:
• Responsible for keeping accurate financial records for all purchases made for EI.
• Responsible for supporting fundraising efforts.

Mission and Strategy:
• Required to participate in planning and strategy meetings which help EI successfully fulfill its mission into the future.
• Required to communicate positive feedback on services as well as constructive criticism in areas where EI needs to improve.

Job Responsibilities:
• Regular communication with the Executive Director
• Regular and timely communication with the institutions and leaders within the Archdiocese whom EI serves.
• Professionally prepare and deliver session content to the clients EI serves.
• Participate in mission and curriculum development
• Regular checking of email, text, or voice messages so as to respond quickly.
• Active communication on all projects EI leads.
• Timely response on all action items, including administrative paperwork.
• Provide leadership on catechetical content and curriculum development.
• Maintain a remote office.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
• Working towards or having an advanced degree in theology or equivalent
• Five or more years of public speaking experience
• High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization's strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
• Needs to live in the Archdiocese of Omaha, but not necessarily in Omaha.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must maintain a professional physical appearance when performing tasks for EI.
• Must be able to drive long distances.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while teaching.
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
