Job Description

I. Job Description:
The Consultant for Youth and Young Adult Evangelization must be an intentional disciple of Jesus Christ. This person will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering an effective and comprehensive ministry for youth and their families that will lead to a relationship with Christ and His Church. The Consultant will also serve as a liaison and presence to the young adult community by providing support, resources, and a prayerful presence. We are looking for a unique individual with the spirit, heart, and charism of ministry, as well as the ability to organize and run a comprehensive, fun, and engaging ministry.

II. Job Responsibilities:
• While not intended to be a complete list, the following are examples of duties associated with this position. Other related expectations, responsibilities, and tasks are required at times. The Consultant should be adaptive and receptive to the varying requirements of this position.
• Assist and advise the Director of Family, Youth, and Young Adult Evangelization in the mission of the office, which is to: "accompany and support parishes in the mission of forming disciples: bringing families, youth, and young adults into a relationship with Christ and His Church."
• Work with diocesan parish leadership to plan, build, and support parish evangelization programming for youth, families, and young adults.
• Plan, organize, and conduct Kerygmatic retreats/conferences for youth and young adults.
• Coordinate and conduct the recruitment, training, support, and evaluation of volunteers.
• To form, train, and lead a Diocesan High School Leadership Team.
• To assist the Young Adult Leadership Council plan and coordinate events.
• Must be available for nights, weekends, and overnights.
• Attend all planning and leadership committees that we oversee as an office.
• Updating/posting on social media platforms.
• Form, supervise, and convene various ministry boards for planning diverse events.
• Ensure the safety of the youth who attend diocesan events by following all guidelines for protection and safety that the Diocese of Providence has issued.

III. Education/ Qualifications
• A leader in the evangelization efforts of the Catholic Church, including being a witness to one's own relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Must have a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) in theology, catechetics, or related field with at least 2-years of experience in youth and family ministry, and/or faith formation and evangelization.
• Proficient in public speaking.
• Experience in assisting parishes to develop evangelization efforts for families, youth, and young adults.
• Experience in designing, planning, and leading retreats.
• Ability to teach, train, and mentor parish leaders.
• Able to thrive in a team environment and can work collaboratively, but also excels working independently.
• Organized and, detail oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be available for nights, weekends, and overnights.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and other modern technologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively through email, telephone, and social media.
