Job Description

Extended Care Director/Preschool Teacher Position
St. Mark Catholic Classical School is looking for an Extended Care Director/Preschool Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
At St. Mark Catholic Classical School, our educational approach is centered on enabling our students to pursue and achieve academic excellence through a classical model, while immersing them in an authentically Catholic environment in which they will be exposed to the goodness, the truth, and the beauty of God. Successful educators at our school will not only be those who can employ the classical approach well and encourage each child to achieve their full God-given potential, but who are themselves living witnesses of their Catholic faith who desire to hand down to our students the faith which they have received.

Salary: $40,000.00 to $45,000.00 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must have a minimum of an associate degree in early learning.
Collaborates with the principal in implementing the mission of the Parish and School. This is accomplished by participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's goals and objectives. The Preschool Teacher/Extended Care Director is a member of the school faculty and staff.
Assures the planning and implementation of instructional programs and activities that further the Catholic classical philosophy and goals of the school. The teacher insures that the classroom atmosphere fosters knowledge of the Catholic faith, development of appropriate ethical choices, faith development and Christian leadership, and integrates Gospel values in daily classroom activity.
The teacher adapts methods and materials to accommodate learner difference and plans for both long term, and short term instructional goals.
The teacher instructs students, monitors student understanding and reteaches when necessary. The teacher established and maintains student involvement in the learning task.
The teacher maintains accurate and current individual records of the student's academic progress and shares this information with both the student and his/her parents.
The teacher establishes and maintains appropriate student behavior and develops strategies to resolve conflict effectively.
The teacher provides frequent and effective feedback concerning attainment of learning goals to students, parents and principal.
The teacher maintains a current level of knowledge and skills required to effectively serve as teacher by keeping abreast of current issues, trends and concerns through attendance of seminars or classes, in-service training, and workshops.
